Am I crazy in really liking how this bullpen is coming together JB? Seem to have some good options at the front and backend, and if Ott relies on his sweeper more in 2024 than he did in 2023 (like in 2022), then expecting some good results. Maybe it's just pre-season excitement, but really liking the look of what they're putting together.

Bullpens are one of the hardest units to project in sports. I'm willing to give Stearns the benefit of the doubt in finding some undervalued gems. There's definitely potential, along with existing pedigree in Diaz, Raley, Ottavino, etc.

I trust Stearns' ability to build a pen since Milwaukee typically had a strong pen in his time there.

I never cared for Todd Frazier in the least. Not a fan. He can't disappear fast enough.

Who knows how it is behind the scene, but the idea that Gary is too negative on the broadcast is frankly absurd. NY fans would not accept a "everything is cheery" type broadcast, especially when things aren't going well which was the case for all but about 2 months of the time Frazier was with the Mets.

Agreed. Every Mets fan I know loves Gary, Keith and Ron, and it’s largely because they’re not afraid to point out negatives when they see them. You can tell they are rooting for the Mets, but they’re not total shills like so many local baseball broadcasters.

I hate to sound like the old man yelling at the cloud but Gary should tell Todd Frazier to STFU and also tell his soft buddy’s to learn how to become a little less thin skinned. It’s not like Gary is calling people names! He’s doing his damn job very professionally at an elite HOF level! These kids have become insufferably sensitive. Full disclosure-I have mid 20’s kids. Can’t tell em shit without offending them.

Todd Frazier, that’s one of the reasons GKR are such fantastic announcers. — they actually educate the listeners, respect their intelligence and they’re not homeboys! If you like that sort of sh*#, go listen to a Nationals game (as I’m forced to when the Mets play them , since I live in VA). It’s sickening.

I live in Baltimore and listen to Howie and Keith for those games or just avoid them entirely. I really can't take it anymore; it's been 19 years of horrible-ness.

Is Diekman playing hard to get? What is the delay?
