As you wrote, the rest of the NL East now has to play the Yankees but the Mets still play an extra game against them while ATL plays an extra game against the possibly last-place Red Sox and we know how big one game can be. If MLB wants to make the schedules equitable, as indicated in Jayson Stark's article today, then these "traditional rivalries" should go away.

I understood today’s chart! That is a lot of red for the NL East but less travel is always welcome. I could not access the Post article about Baty but reading about his off-season prep is exciting. Very mature and focused approach. Also exciting: Alex Ramirez. “A true centerfielder?” Cannot remember the last time I heard that and the Mets in the same breath. I heard someone on the video say Ramirez can take his time and he’ll be ready at 24. That seems long - four years? I read a comment online about the Mets’ non-roster invitees: “Just keep Parada away from the girlfriends.” 🤔

Praying for poor Ed Hearn - a true Met. The schedule is the schedule - regarless of strength of this is fantastic not seeing the same teams in your division everday. The NFL needs to do this.

Andy Martino, was asked by his producer “Why is Ruf still on the team. He looked up Ruf’s numbers and then, full quote for context: “That in turn led to a broader inqiry regarding the Mets’ designated hitter plan. Here’s where the reporting led:”

That’s it. He’s reporting that he’s reporting, but where is the reporting? Sounds like a summary. Who did he talk to? He doesn’t even say “front office sources with intimate knowledge of the discussions told me, on the condition of anonymity ....” any more.

Andy Martino has become a more of an unofficial press secretary than a reporter. He spins things someone wants spun. I find it exceedingly annoying.

If the Correa deal went through, Ruf would not be on the team. If you care to do some actual digging and reporting tell us who stopped Cohen from going through with the deal. And find out who they wanted instead but lost out on during the 3 week melodrama that derailed the momentum of the most exciting and aggressive off season in franchise history.
