Great stuff. I don’t mind players who are out of shape if they can play. I remember Mickey Lolich! But with all the sports science developments, I’m surprised teams let guys like Toronto’s catcher stay so round. Do teams try to use nutrition guidance and workout plans to keep guys in shape or just accept that some of us have that kind of body? I recall strong and successful efforts to get Dom svelter. Do teams demand players make weight or fine them in the minors if they don’t? If not, why not? Over time a lot of extra weight wears down joints and such, no?
