So great to see Alvarez contributing with the bat. I do predict that he will be a big bopper next year. And, who knows, maybe these next two games?

The guy plays the toughest position in baseball is figuratively beaten up every game: why do people get down on him so much? The workload is enormous. I agree that he will improve each year.

It would make a huge difference. But also with his catching. He’s got to get his pitchers to shut these guys down. Make them and their fanbase sweat for once. Alvy and Manaea and Severino can bring us to the promised land.

Same here - drove up to Boston for the weekend and definitely helped with the 95 traffic. A lot of allies up here saluting my hat with a LGM!

In keeping with the theme of expecting the Mets to lose but very much enjoying the resulting win I still think the Mets are the underdogs to win this series. The one thing that troubles me the most is the bullpen of the Mets. If Manaea or Severino falter early in either Game 6 or 7 then I would have to say that the advantage would be with the Dodgers almost immediately. I am not confident in whomever the Mets might bring in to relieve Mania and/or Severino, considering the Mets bullpen performance in the series so far. Yes, the Dodgers bullpen also has it's issues but in comparing the 2 bullpens side by side I'd say the advantage is still Dodgers. That said, if the Mets can take advantage of the Dodgers & their bullpen in Game 6 and really make that LA bullpen work then I might feel much better going into Game 7. But, as of now, I am still very hopeful of a Mets series win but not at all confident of it happening. However, in the end, #YaGottaBelieve don't you Mets fans? #LGM

Oh my oh my ... we're still here! Hotel California meets The Temptations. What a series.

Jets will have to wait Sunday night... there are more important things to do.

(The Athletic article by Ken Rosenthal re imaginary Cohen-Stearns conversation about Pete is Marvelous... more so than even Thronberry. Must read if you can).

I just added what the Bullpen Chart would like like before the game on Sunday. You can find it by clicking on this post in the Substack app, where it is updated.

Great win.

I listened to the podcast. I imagined myself turning to all three of you and asking, "Are you out of your minds?"

The Dodgers bullpen for Game 6 is a seriously formidable task and you all talked about it as if it was a weakness. I don't see it that way at all.

This is the group that shutout the Padres in Game 4 and then hurled 4 shutout innings in Game 5.

I can't possibly see how you see this as a disadvantage for them.

I actually don’t disagree with you, Jimmy. I am nervous about game six, but thrilled that they at least forced one to have to happen.
