First, this is a great blog—really enjoy it. To the game, I’m still annoyed they pulled Stroman in a 0-0 game.... not sure why walking the 8 hitter was necessary—they could have let their No.2 starter go after him and then, with 2 outs, the O’s would still presumably hit for the pitcher... In any event, for a pretty boring game (I was in Citi), we saw some interesting stuff: Almora’s failed suicide attempt; game tying home run that wasn’t (followed by a great at bat by Pillar); McCann swing and losing the bat—it was the longest lost-bat toss I’ve ever seen; Squirrel trying to take second (ridiculous) and just completely stopping, mid-base path; and of course, a walk-off fielder’s choice.
