Super glad they didn't sign him. The harassment definitely isn't the same was what Porter did or what Callaway is accused of, but it's at least indicative of "he's a jerk". And that's enough reason for me to not want to root for him if I don't have it.
I'm happy we didn't sign Bauer for that kind of money. That being said this weird narrative about harassment seems VASTLY overstated and to even mention it in the same proximity of Porter/Callaway feels intellectually dishonest. I think its unfair to blame him for his followers actions. Do you want to be responsible for your followers actions? He screwed up harassing the college student that tweeted at him yes but why that deserves him being cancelled seems a little much to me. Anyways thats my take.
If the Mets miss out on JBJ this year who is a bad fit without the DH who do they turn to next year? Not seeing any notable names in the 2022 FA market. Crazy to think how much better position they would be in here with Kelenic to play CF.
