Wishing luck and screams LetsGoMets from here in SC. They did great digging out of that hole and winding up where they are. PRIDE. To be a Met fan

The Mets still hold the tiebreaker over Arizona and are a game up on Atlanta. They control their own destiny, as the saying goes, no matter how much Bob Costas hates it. Just win as many games in Milwaukee and hopefully Monday’ DH won’t be a winner-take-all situation.

Shout out to Blake and Peter for the pod and for JB joining throughout the year. Fantastic job!

It seems the Braves are more worried about beating the Mets then their potential playoff opponent. Not sure if I agree with their logic or not, but its the Braves; it'll work out in the end like it always does for them.

Listened to the Pod, and am honestly confused of the notion that Pete has some magical streak in him. With all due respect, you guys watch the games, right? Pete is a mental midget and he can no longer hit breaking pitches. His fast twitch muscle fibers are...not so fast lol. With runners on in a close game, I'd rather anyone else up at this point.

The myth of Pete's ability to "carry a team" has become one of the more annoying cliches surrounding this team. But hopefully he has a few big hits in him -- in big moments.

Petes biggest hit this year was on April 4th when he hit a HR to tie the game in the 9th vs the Tigers. Think about that.

Having exceeded all expectations, and picking themselves up from the May ash heap, this kind of feels like we're playing with house money. That's fine for us to feel, but not for the players because most fans will no longer feel that way for a while if they miss the post-season. But in the end, the story of this season is knowing that we have a manager and PBO as impressive as the owner going forward. Stability for once.

According to The Athletic there are over 1,500 permutations of what could happen this weekend+Monday. So many possibilities, so few teams, so much at stake. I'm worn out considering options. Tuesday's game left a sour taste; we were tight. Maybe these two weather days gave us the break we need. Just make the most of our last 3-5 games. Win and we will steamroll into the post season, opponents beware.

I think your point about "looseness" and "tightness" speaks to the fallacy of teams having something to play for vs. teams with nothing on the line. It can work both ways. The team feeling no pressure whatsoever might be the one with the edge. We don't know. Ultimately, I think players want to perform, especially as they are gearing up for the playoffs. Pitchers want to get outs, hitters want to put good swings on the ball. I think the concept of the "meaningless game" for a playoff team is a fallacy. All the component parts have significance, even if the result does not. And from a different angle: I believe that Pete Alonso is more likely to hit 2 HRs in a "meaningless" game than in an important one.

I start JD today because he's going to hit a HR.

Nimmo, Bader, Winker in OF.

Wait, just looked it up: Marte is 5-8 vs. Montas. I'd work to get him in there. Who does he replace, JD or Winker?
