No sweat. As an intern at State Department I asked my boss for comment on my grad school application essay. He said “ it’s great if you want to study in S América”. I had misspelled Columbia U!

I fixed it, got in, passed the Foreign Service exam… and State sent me to Colombia just to be sure I got the spelling down!

Happy weekend!

Ten of the 26 Opening Day Mets won't be in camp for 2 weeks. That's 2 weeks where they will play under 2022 rules instead of 2023 rules. No wonder Buck isn't thrilled.

Great analysis!! Of course, no way to know if an injury would or wouldn’t happen during the same period of baseball activity in Florida. Maybe quintana gets hurt in the tourney and wouldn’t have in camp. But also maybe Senga gets hurt in camp but wouldn’t have had he played in the tourney. But no way to know. So we should probably not worry about it.

How do other teams stack up in terms of numbers of players in the WBC? When will the players be absent from camp exactly?

The tournament is March 8-21. I guess it depends how far each team goes for how long each player is away from camp. I was looking for a summary by team to include this morning, but didn’t find one. I was too lazy to count myself lol

I think it will help. Get them up to speed with meaningful games instead of slow Grapefruit League games. Most guys have had enough Grapefruit League play by about March 8 anyway.

Spread the word, please:

There is no “u” in Colombia, the fantastic country from which I am writing you.

Ah! That is my mistake. And I know that too! But my brain always wants to forget in the moment lol

To me the biggest problem with WBC is that players won't be getting experience adjusting to this year's new rules.

Fair point. Hopefully they’ll be quick learners.

Good analysis on WBC and injuries. Surprising to me. The WBC is a four letter word in three letters to IMO. Complete nonsense and a collosal waste of time. Also- really cool ON THE AD DURING THE SUPERBOWL !

Anyone know what issues are key for Keith? Presume money and years, but more time off? Philly freedom?

How are his terms compared to competitors? I find him fabulous, and the mix with the more serious Ronny is perfect.
