The Mets continue to control their own destiny. To reframe a famous line from Finding Nemo. Just keep winning. Just keep winning. Speaking of Finding Nemo. Way to go Nimmo finding his bat again at the perfect time. Thanks JB for sharing the stats to show how this team has really stepped up when Lindor got hurt. This team is special and a joy to watch. The Phillies are now back to the top of their rotation for the last three of this series and the Braves are hungry and desperate. The next six games are the true test of who this team is. Playoff baseball begins now. Let's go Mets!

This team is FUN. Loving the ride, however long it lasts. LFGM!

Also, courtesy of Mike Mayer, here’s a fantastically amusing group of Mets players with 1 triple, including Acuña:

Moises Alou

Nelson Figueroa

Orlando Hernandez

Tsuyoshi Shinjo

Victor Zambrano

Marco Scutaro

Xavier Nady

Al Leiter

Michael Cuddyer

James Loney

Ty Kelly

Billy McKinney

Bobby Gene Smith

Nolan Ryan

Wayne Kirby

Willie Mays

"Name the two HOF'ers who have exactly one career triple as a Met" - that's a good trivia question.

Just win today's game.

Thats right - just win the "next game"

Last night was almost a must given the pitching matchup. We keep going...

Agreed. Tonight the Mets face a really tough southpaw in Sanchez. Get to work, study the video, make a plan and execute. Taking one game at a time is so much fun.

A good time for JD to snap out of it.

I'd start him tonight against the LHP, but it's no longer automatic vs. RHP.

Yes, worrying about future games before, during and after the current game takes the enjoyment out of it for me. I want to dream (noticed potential playoff tickets have been loaded to my account ‼️) but I want to focus on tonight's game. I do not want Philly to celebrate at Citi tonight. Secure the split.

The next three days will show where we are going. We will face three quality pitchers and two have faced this team a bunch of times and Wheeler being an ex-Met. I’m not suggesting we should have any fear because everyone is gettable. Did anyone see this coming from Acuna? I call bullshit if you raised your hand. He sure seems to be someone who likes the bright lights. Not sure anyone noticed but he had on yellow arm and leg guards last night. A gift from Robert? I’d prefer he gets orange or blue ones as there isn’t any yellow in the Mets team colors but can’t complain if he’s going to play like this all season. It’s a short example but he’s hit for the cycle in three games. No way he isn’t on the roster next spring. Look, we can analyze all the numbers and have hope out the ying-yang but this team has shown they can beat the best and have also shown they can blow it when they are a pitch away from a win. It’s up to the guys in that dugout now and it’s crunch time. Being a Mets fan since the 70’s I’d like to say that it feels like this team won’t be denied the post season but I’ve had that feeling many times before only to be crushed. Let’s let it ride and enjoy it until it ends whenever that is. I will say if the bats are back with the pitchers keeping up what they have done? This team can win it all but I’m a lifelong Mets fan and….

I listened to Howie (with the FOX video) and he remains skeptical of the Mets’ statements about Lindor’s “any day now” return.

He's in 70's and knows what a bad back feels like. I'm skeptical too, but I'm always skeptical about injuries until players are back on the field. Some things you simply can't play through and a bad back is one of those. I'm hoping we see him in Atlanta and definitely not counting on him this weekend.

Do you really think a not quite 31 year old world class athlete’s back compares to a that of 70 year old alta kaka broadcaster?

I hope to god we’re not just waiting for him to get out bed without back stiffness. Get a sleep number mattress Francisco.

My take is he will be back but maybe not until the road trip. Gary's skepticism feeds into Met fan paranoia but he is entitled to his opinion.
