Seems a little rough on Diaz to say he didn’t look sharp. He walked a guy and struck out the other two, both on 1-2 counts. He’s maybe not 2022 Diaz but he’s been plenty effective since he came back from injury.
Big kudos to Maton for the veteran guile to recognize Kelenic squaring early and adjusting to throw an unbuntable pitch. Super smart in a tense, tie game, 9th inning situation. Impressive.
Thanks for the podcast this morning, made my run much more enjoyable. Regarding the Bader thing, I agree he wants to be a Yankee. He’s been a good signing but I’d trade him for a solid corner OF and let Taylor and Nimmo play CF.
What a game last night. So weird it was the Braves who made the mistakes the Mets capitalized on for a change! I can’t believe the squeeze wasn’t put on by the manager - what were the players thinking?!?
Fantastic pod this morning, too. Spot on regarding Stearns and Mendoza. Sure seems like the organization is in good hands with Stearns.
This is better. MLB is mediocre and it is realistic to think the Mets have a chance to do damage in the playoffs. I do not know one Knicks’ fan who thought they could or would get by Celtics. Anything can happen in MLB 2024. Yay the fans? I’ve accepted it and bought a real OMG sign to commemorate my regression the mean 😉
Happy Senga Day! Here's hoping that his 1st start of the season works out completely in the Mets favor! Gin & Tonic? Perfect comparison for what is so far turning out to be a special season for Butto and the Mets! #LGM
Can we end this DJ experiment. And I think we should never get on Lindor he has been worth his contract with his defense leadership and offense. He has notoriously been a slow starter and weather in Cleveland and queens doesn’t help either.
If people want to say he is “overpaid” that is BS he plays a premium position is durable will have another top ten mvp season looks like and player salaries are all based in market rate. If players don’t get paid billionaire owners just pocket it.
Exciting times !! If vasil or hamel were developing and not struggling this season they could jumped ahead of Megill
Important day today, because we don’t know what we have in Senga. For the rest of the season he could be an ace, a washout , or just average. Time will tell and it starts today. Morton a tough matchup for us.
On the podcast you challenged us to point out a decision Mendy made that lost a ballgame. I am a fan of Mendy but his “He is our closer” mentality to stick with Diaz for 4 blown saves when there was obviously something wrong with him seems like a bad decision that lost one or two games. Same with Houser and Megill in April and May when everyone knew that it meant the team would start 3 or 4 runs down after 3 innings. They were awful yet they were slow in making a move. I’m not counting the first couple of starts. I’m talking about start after start after that.
I hear you on Mendoza sticking with Diaz, but was there a better option at the time than hoping Diaz would find himself? The season is so long, that I think there are times when the best approach is to let your best players have time to figure it out. You may lose a game or two, but end up a much better team in crunch time. Let’s hope that’s all behind him now and we get prime Diaz the rest of the way.
Mets have to option a reliever down for Senga? Not going to lie, worried about the possibility of a short outing by both Senga & Megill and Butto being used and Houser being worked recently leaves us a bit short.
Yep! It’s time to move Baty. He had his chances and now 3B is locked up for a very long time. And remember we have a youngster coming back from knee injury too next year…

Was at the game last night. This team is making us believe they are never out it. Reminds me of the Knicks! Let’s goooooo!

Lets Go Mets !

If he’s ret to go its almost like getting a free agent.

especially when Houser is gone & Nunez is hurt.
