Great Episode Boys. Touched on almost everything. Baty is out of position. Why not give Vientos a blow and throw Baty over there for a game or two. Vientos doesn’t need to go down but last year he raked when he felt his job was on the line. Why not give him a day or two to reset and see Baty at third which also gives us the definitive on him and allows Vientos to reset. Vientos also doesn’t have JD this year who helped him a lot last year. The starters need to go farther than 4 innings. Agree on the Pen.
Thanks, James! Sounds like we are on the same page on a lot of things. It's a good point about Vientos. They seem reluctant to complicate things with Baty learning second to have him play third too often. And therein lies the issue with giving Vientos a break. They really don't have anyone to play there in his place right now.
It's been two weeks... So much talk about is it too early?? YES! It's been two weeks!!
What's nice about a team with little expectations is fans (and content creators) have a tolerable level of patience. When a team is good and signs Juan Soto, suddenly two weeks (even with an 8-4 record) is magnified.
Remember that during spring training everyone (even God Bless Peter Kauffman) was about to cast Jeff McNeil aside for the bounty of potential that Baty and Acuna offered. Now, he's 'tried and true' and 'a trusted veteran'... Lets try to keep an even keel here.
Finally, Acuna is not a panacea... He's done nothing - and these games count for him too! Not just when your judging Baty. And he LOOKS BORED even now in real games.
Can't be whining about Soto's RBI's when 3/4 of the lineup isn't getting on base and they're pitching around him to get to Pete who is mashing
