I think it’s really interesting that for four seasons of his career, Jeff has been All Star caliber and for three, he has been putrid. I realize even the best players have down seasons, but this seems relatively unique for a Met at least.
McNeil clearly seems to be a head case at times and it’s easy to ascribe to that, but I’d love to see a comparison of his numbers from 2021 and 2023/24 that got to a more data driven take.
Boy, Blackburn will be under the microscope tonight. Not an easy situation for a guy coming to a new team, only his second start back from injury list. I wish him luck, since (from afar) he seems like the type of player I root for.
I know travel circumstances made sense for Blackburn to remain out west but I can only imagine how difficult it is for him to pitch his first game for his new team the day he starts.
