I think we all saw this coming on some level. In a perverse way, he/we might be better off if he doesn’t pitch until June/July, assuming he doesn’t have to stop again. However, this is starting to feel like a sad, Fidrych’esque story. Even sadder if the Mets pitcher from their insane core with the best career happens to pitch for the Phillies.
This is a Mets tradition. True Mets fans have been waiting for this to happen, whether to Jake, Max, Pete, Francisco or a passel of others. Hopefully Max can stay healthy.

Amen. He was pitching 6 inning starts and they were calling him the greatest. I love him to death, but come on…
Notice the “it’s rare for a pitcher to get this type of injury” - clearly done for the year and career threatening.
