Nice to see you and good luck with the podcast; looking forward to giving it a shot. If MLB makes most of its money from TV and streaming contracts, then can we conclude that low ratings are a big deal? I am already bored with the Craig Counsell Chronicles. I know nothing about him except this: he has not won the big one and making him the highest paid manager in MLB will not change that. So let the bidding begin and wake me up when it's over.
You really shouldn’t call Craig Counsell the presumptuous favorite unless you know for a fact that he is smug. However he is most likely the presumptive favorite although do you that for a fact or are you making an educated guess? You can also presume that he is more likely to stay in Milwaukee given his ties to the community and his success with the Brewers.
I know nothing about hiring a baseball manager or the inner workings of what The Mets arew doing to hire one. However, nothing nothing I bet my house Counsell is the favorite to be the guy. That is a fact based on ties to Sterns, from NY, and Contract is done in Milwaukee - that simple.
This. Had a few pods piling up but I downloaded this as soon as I saw this post. Listening to it now on my morning commute and it’s exactly what I needed from a Mets podcast. So many juicy topics discussed in what feels like the perfect length for something like this.
Congratulations you guys ! I Think the best part was a 'jazzed' up Meet The Mets theme song at the end - quite a catchy tune - will be stuck in my head all day LOL. Well done all around. I think im probably like Peter the most - emotional lol. Blake does fine job as "MC" and JB offers good insight. My comments: Shut up Pham - hate hearing it but my observation he is right. I dont like DeGrom getting a WS ring more then Sherzer. I didnt watch i sec of WS as When Cohen punted on the season my interest in baseball went down the toilet. In closing - only you three (3) could bring up a long Mets Fix and a new podcast right smack in the middle of the FOOTBALL season LOL, Again it was excellent ! Great Job !
On Narvaez: Has a player ever had an easier decision? He'd never sniff that money as a free agent.
The Mets had McCann, hated him, paid $20 million to have him go away . . . and then signed the exact same guy for two years! He can't hit and the defense did not come as advertised. We had Nido. We had Alvarez. Wild.
Get ready for the Mets' making an announcement right after the show is finished or published. We had an episode that was almost half out-dated within hours of release. It's so fun!
I’m a hardcore podcast person and have been since the advent of the format. I listen to over a hundred a week and always at 2x speed. I love long podcasts and many of the ones I subscribe to are 2-3+ hours long. Since this is the first episode you’re still finding the groove and this stuff will naturally develop as that happens, but I always enjoy when the flow is not dictated by time but conversation. In this episode there was a few times where people had more to say but the pace was somewhat relentless so they couldn’t really finish their thoughts or responded in a clipped manner. Which I get (first show!), and there is certainly a [likely] bigger audience for more compact shows. I think it’s a balance which will develop. The future for the show, and our Mets, is bright.
I’d blame NPR/Fresh Air for that. Lots of podcasts seem to want to emulate that format. As far as speeding them up, any podcast app should let you change the playback speed. Look for a button that is usually labeled something like “1x.”
Totally enjoyed the new podcast. Having stepped away pretty much from the Chat through the playoffs and WS, it was nice to come back to my Fix Home as a listener. I thought the pace was fine and would prefer you not extend timing since it's hard to find so many free minutes in a day -- easier to have short episodes made up with more frequenct. Maybe a theme/focus to each. I'm still heartbroken from the lost season; eager to rev it up for PSL and "The Kids"..

Well, I really shouldn't call Counsell the "presumptuous" anything without knowing him personally lol. I meant "presumptive" but you got the point.

I was commenting on the improper use of the word presumptuous.
lol oh sorry I don’t even know what that means

Exactly. It's crazy. Take the money and run (or sit on the bench lol)
Which is evidence for why Eppler was fired. He did a terrible job. Blatant mistakes. No brainer screw ups.
Thanks a lot! As if Greg and I don't have enough competition ("National League Town")! Best of luck.

Oh yeah! We debated releasing the episode on Monday, but knew news would break if we did that lol
Thanks for podcast will check it out.
Episode #1 is downloaded. Can’t wait to listen!
Thank you!
Gasp! My dreams have come true! Congrats on the podcast launch, can’t wait to listen.
Solid first episode! Looking forward to listener questions and for my .02... don’t be afraid to go longer!
Great feedback. Thank you! We are definitely mindful of the time, but maybe we could go a little longer on some episodes.

Why do many podcasts sound as if they're going too slowly? I didn't realize one could speed up. The slower cadence always sounds weird to me.

I really enjoyed the podcast!! So glad you made one at last! 😊
One of my favourite Mets Pod started a Substack and now my favourite Mets Newsletter starts a Podcast. I like that!
Congrats and good luck on the podcast.
Is it available on Spotify? I cannot find it for some reason.
