Forgive me for sending the newsletter a bit late this morning.
It took 609 pitches, 25 position players, 19 pitchers, 18 innings, six hours and 39 minutes for me to decide I was actually glad the Mets weren’t playing in the World Series last night.
I’m not sure if any of us would have survived that game. But the Dodgers somehow did.

Antoan Richardson will not return as the Mets’ first base coach in 2026.
The fact many fans spent the past 24 hours semi-panicking about this news is a testament to how impactful Richardson was in a role that is usually relatively anonymous to the non diehards.
