It was a good day yesterday, as the Mets gained some ground in the standings despite having the day off. Atlanta continues to struggle at the plate, losing 1–0 to the Phillies on Thursday. New York now has a 1.5-game lead with less than two weeks to play on the regular season schedule. Their magic number to clinch the NL East is down to 11.
