☀️ Good Morning:

The Mets salvaged the getaway game against the Reds yesterday to avoid a sweep, displaying the kind of pitching from Nolan McLean and offense from their stars that David Stearns had fantasized about during the off-season.

If Stearns were to script how this year would have gone, it might look something like Wednesday:

McLean goes seven strong, fanning nine in an 9-1 victory.

The Mets’ bullpen continues to lock down the late innings.

Juan Soto, Marcus Semien and Francisco Alvarez all have big days. Oh, and Bo Bichette goes on a tear.

We’ll get into Bo’s recent hot streak and what it could mean for both him and the Mets moving forward. For anyone who’s watched the Mets’ first half, it feels like a cruel joke, but Bichette is -- somehow -- suddenly approaching a respectable stat line.
